Making tartare may look fancy, but it is actually pretty simple to make. You may already have most of the ingredients in your fridge to make this recipe. Of course, excluding the fresh sashimi grade salmon. This recipe of salmon tartare is more classic and French inspired. I say this recipe because there is another one that is Asian inspired which I really enjoy, but that will be for a future recipe post.
Ingredients
- 1 lbs Sashimi grade salmon
- 2 Tbsp pickle
- 1 green onion
- 2 tsp capers
- 1 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 1/2 tsp mirin
- 1/2 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
Instructions
- Finely chop pickles, green onions, and capers. Mix all of the other ingredients except the salmon, mix in a large bowl. Set aside.
- Cut the salmon into small cubes about 1 cm x 1 cm. Put diced salmon into the bowl with the other ingredients.
- Serve with toasted baquette, or crackers. I also diced up some avocados to go with it.
