Easy as 1, 2, 3 ! I use this sauce often for Asian hot pot and spring rolls. I also use pretzels as spoons to “dip” in the sauce. There are many creative ways you can use this sauce. Its peanut butter sauce! what else can I say?
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Coconut milk or water
- 1/2 Tbsp soy Sauce
- 2 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 3 Tbsp natural peanut butter
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, on medium heat. Heat up the coconut milk, sugar and soy sauce. Remove from heat as soon as it becomes hot, making sure not to burn it.
- In a bowl, add the peanut butter and sesame oil, start pouring very slowly the hot milk. Giving a good mix after every addition. Once the mixture becomes very thick add a bit more milk, mix again and repeat until you have a thick sauce. Similar to a sour cream texture. You can always thin it out with more milk if you find that its too thick, it can be different depending on the brand of peanut butter you have.
Notes
I like to use the coconut milk in the cartons, not in the can since they can be too thick. I use water when I don't have coconut milk, it works great too.If you do not have natural peanut butter, you can use the other brands just make sure to adjust the sugar. It will be sweeter than natural PB.
